The Introductory Session will contain overview presentations by keynote speakers. The subsequent parallel sessions on respectively Fuels & Materials and Man-Technology- Organisation (MTO) issues will include updates on the work performed in Halden as well as in member organisations, together with presentations covering broader aspects of the session topics. Ample time will be provided for discussion, which should focus on status reviews, research priorities and development goals in the areas being discussed. The items to be covered in the different sessions are outlined in the following:

  • Irradiation effects on fuel properties
  • Fuel behaviour at high burn-up
  • Properties of different fuel types (UO2, MOX, Gd, IMF)
  • Modelling of fuel behaviour and code verifi cation
  • Post irradiation examinations

Cladding creep, corrosion and water chemistry issues

  • Cladding properties, effects of irradiation
  • Creep and growth of cladding and in-core components
